Allegion Wi-Fi Direct Setup Guide

Allegion Wi-Fi Direct Setup Guide

1.0 Introduction

Allegion locks have built-in Wi-Fi so they can be connected directly to an existing Wi-Fi network (enabling automatic updates of lock configuration and user access).

Notes:

  • Supported on the Schlage NDE and LE Locks.
  • The Allegion locks must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, not a 5GHz Wi-Fi network.
  • When using Wi-Fi connect you configure the lock to be updated twice a day. The update settings are configured using the Keri Aetheros Web Portal and must initially be sent to the lock using the Keri Mobile app. This initial configuration tells the lock when to connect to the Wi-Fi network in order to receive the update from the Keri Cloud Server.

    Devices Synced

  7. Typically, you would now add the lock to any required access groups and you would also configure the times that you wish the lock database to be updated - (see next section).

4.0Configure the Scheduled Lock Updates

When the lock is connected to a Wi-Fi network it can be automatically updated twice per day. At these defined times the lock will establish a connection to the Wi-Fi network and will download the up-to-date data from the Cloud server. You will know the lock is being updated when the LED on the reader is slowly flashing amber. You setup the schedule update time before you perform the initial lock update (using the mobile app).

  1. Locate the lock on the Devices screen.
  2. From the action drop-down menu, select Edit.

    Edit Lock

  3. The lock settings screen will appear.
  4. In the lower right of the screen, locate the Database download time option.
  5. Set option #1 to define the first time that an update will be sent to the lock.
  6. Set option #2 to define a second time that an update will be sent to the lock.

5.0Editing Users/Cardholders
  • To de-activate a card you should remove the cardholders access group (instead of deleting the card).
  • To re-activate the card, just assign a valid access group again.
  • You can assign the cardholders access groups or individual access to the locks.
  • Of course, the cardholder changes will not go out to the lock immediately. The changes will be updated on the lock(s) at the next scheduled download time.
  • When a change is made in the database (for example, when a new cardholder is enrolled) the locks will have update indicators next to them.

6.0Update the Locks with the Confluence Mobile App

The first time you configure the locks to use a Wi-Fi connection for updates, you will need to visit the lock(s) and send an update using the Confluence mobile app.

This will configure the locks so they will know when to connect to the Wi-Fi network (to retrieve the database download). The following steps assume you have already downloaded the Keri Confluence app to your smart device and you have followed the steps in section 4.0).

Confluence Icon

  1. Ensure you have Bluetooth enabled on your smart device.
  2. Physically go to the first lock that you need to update.
  3. Open the Keri Confluence app.
  4. Log in with your Allegion username and password.
  5. Tap the site name.
  6. The app will scan for locks within range.
  7. The list of nearby locks should appear.
  8. Tap the name of the lock you wish to update.
  9. Select Connect.
  10. The app will connect to the lock and the lock's reader LED will flash red.
  11. As the app connects it will send the database to the lock.
  12. Once the lock is updated you will be on the lock's settings screen.
  13. You can now disconnect from the lock (using the disconnect icon in the upper-right corner).
