AUL Suspend and Restore

AUL Suspend and Restore

1.0 Introduction

AUL Suspend allows you to suspend any Auto Unlock/Lock (AUL) time schedule applied to automatically lock and unlock a door or set of doors.

Suspend affects the AUL time schedule in these ways:

  1. When you suspend a door's AUL time schedule, the door is prevented from following the assigned AUL schedule.
  2. If a door is within its AUL time schedule (the door is unlocked) and you Suspend AUL, the door is locked and will not follow the AUL time zone until manually Restored.
  3. If a door is outside of its AUL time zone (the door is locked) and you Suspend AUL, the door remains locked and will not follow the AUL time zone until manually Restored.

Important Note: AUL Suspend when using Standard NXT controllers is a 2-step process. If the door is auto-unlocked when the AUL schedule is suspended you will also need to manually lock the door. PXL and NXT-MSC controller doors will lock immediately when the AUL is suspended.

Restore will re-enable the auto unlock schedule (AUL) for that door. The only way a suspended AUL schedule can be restored is by clicking the restore button or using an individual reader's Action drop-down menu.

2.0 Suspending the AUL Time Schedule on a Single Door

  1. From the Borealis main menu, click Hardware >> Readers.
  2. A list of readers will appear. Note: There may be multiple pages.
  3. Place a checkmark against the reader whose AUL schedule you wish to suspend.

  4. Click the SUSPEND button to suspend the auto-unlock (AUL) schedule that's assigned to the reader.

  5. Alternatively, you can use the reader's Action drop-down menu and select Suspend.

3.0 Suspending the AUL Time Schedule on Multiple Doors

  1. From the Borealis main menu, click Hardware >> Readers.
  2. Place a check mark against all the readers that you wish to suspend their AUL schedules.

  3. Click the SUSPEND button to suspend the auto-unlock (AUL) schedule for all selected readers.

  4. Confirm to go ahead with suspend the AUL on the selected readers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using NXT-MSC controllers and you suspend a door that is auto-unlocked,  the door will immediately lock and will remained in a locked operating mode until the AUL schedule is restored. However, if you suspend an auto-unlocked door when using Standard NXT controllers you will ALSO need to manually lock the door after suspending the AUL schedule. Again, the door will not follow the AUL schedule again until the schedule has been restored.

Restoring the AUL Time Schedule on a Single Door

The following steps explain how to restore a schedule on a door.
  1. From the main menu, click on Hardware >> Readers.
  2. The readers page will appear.
  3. Place a checkmark against the door which has the AUL schedule you wish to restore.

  4. Click the RESTORE button to restore the auto-unlock (AUL) schedule for the selected reader. The reader will then lock and re-lock following the AUL schedule.

Note: As with suspending AUL schedules you can also make multiple selections and restore the AUL schedule on multiple readers at the same time.
