BioManager Software Upgrade

1.0 Introduction

The following steps explain how to upgrade to a new version of BioManager software. At the time of writing, the current software version is v2.0.0

Notes:
  1. To download the new version of BioManager you must have registered an account on the kerisys.com website.
  2. Version 2.0.0 fixes an issue where the access database drivers could get corrupted following a Windows update.

2.0 Download the latest BioManager Version

  1. Visit kerisys.com website.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click on Member Login.



  3. Enter your registered user name and password, then log in.
  4. You will then see the Downloads page.


3.0 Install the New Version

Note: You will NOT need to uninstall the currently installed version of BioSync.
  1. Click on Supporting software.
  2. A list of all supporting software will appear on the right.
  3. Click on BioSync/Biomanager.
  4. You will be re-directed to a Sharefile location.
  5. Place a checkmark against 'BioManager CS Setup 2.0.0'.
  6. Or, place a checkmark against 'Select All' if you also wish to download the software release notes and the updated firmware for the KBF readers and the ENR-1 USB enrollment reader.
  7. Click the DOWNLOAD button and the installation file will download to your PC. 

  8. Double-click the executable installation file.
  9. You will see a notification that Microsoft Access 2010 SP2 needs to be installed and Crystal Reports for .NET Framework v4.0.



  10. Click the INSTALL button.
  11. Access 2010 SP2 will install first.
  12. Then click the NXT button to go ahead with install the Crystal Reports.
  13. Confirm to accept the license agreement.
  14. Click NEXT again.
  15. You are now likely to see a prompt that the currently installed version of Crystal Reports will be upgraded.
  16. Click the NEXT button again on the next 2 pages.



  17. The Crystal Reports will install within a few seconds.
  18. Click the FINISH button to complete the installation of these items.
  19. You will now be prompted to install the new version of BioManager, so click NEXT.
  20. Click NEXT again on the destination folder screen.
  21. Click NEXT again on the feature select screen (by default, both the client and the server will be selected). Only deselect the server if the server is located on a different PC.
  22. Click the INSTALL button to go ahead with installing BioManager.
  23. BioManager installation will complete a few seconds later.



  24. Click the FINISH button.
