Transfer the Doors32 System to a New PC
The following steps detail the quickest and easiest method for transferring a Doors32 system to a different PC.
Note: Doors32 is not compatible with and version of Windows after Windows 7. Also note; if deployed on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 you will not be able to use the Monitoring feature or the badging feature. Windows 7 (32-bit) is the last fully-supported Windows operating system.
- Verify the new host PC has a supported Windows operating system - Windows 95, 98, XP, Vista (32-bit). Windows 7 (32-bit).
- On the current host PC go to the C: drive.
- Locate the folder named 'Kerisys'.
- Copy the entire 'Kerisys' folder onto a memory stick.
- Open the USB drive on the destination PC.
- Open the USB drive and locate the 'Kerisys' folder.
- The entire program is contained in the Kerisys folder so copy the entire folder onto the C: drive of the new PC.
- Within the Kerisys folder are all installed versions of the Doors32 software. Go into the latest (most recent version) - this should be the version you have been running.
- Right-click the shortcut and send it to the desktop of the new PC.
- You will now be ready to run Doors32 on the new PC
Note: You may need to change the IP address of the new PC (If using a LAN-520 module), the new host needs to be able to communicate with the LAN-520.
Note: If using a USB-Serial adapter you may need to install the adapter on the new PC and check the COM port number assigned to the module. The COM port number may need to be adjusted in the Doors.NET software.
