EGP will not connect via RS232

Entraguard Platinum will not connect via RS232

SOFTWARE CHECKS
- Verify the correct COM port is defined in the Doors.NET software.
- Verify the PXL gateway is online.
- Ensure the EG unit is enabled in the software.

HARDWARE CHECKS
- Verify the controller is powered-up.
- Verify the Primary controller is set at address #1.
- Ensure the J19 and J20 pins are shorted (to enable a serial connection.
- Verify that the RS-232 cable is properly connected to the TB12 terminal connector.
- Ensure the wiring to the TB12 connector is correct (TxD in pin1, RxD in pin2 and Ground in pin 6).
- Check that the EGP is receiving between 12vdc and 14vdc
- If it is a new EGP unit, perform a memory clearance. This is done by holding down the white S1 reset button and applying power. Once powered-up, after the controller beeps once, indicating the controller’s firmware is ready for programming, release the SW1 button, view the options on the LCD display and select option 2 to clear memory. Once the unit is reset, the LCD will display a warning that the unit has not been initialized.
