Enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

1.0 Introduction

Borealis allows you to configure your account to require 2-factor authentication (2FA) when logging into the user interface. Two-factor authentication (2FA) requires you to enter your Borealis password as well as a unique authentication code that will be e-mailed to your Borealis e-mail address. 


2.0 Enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Log into the Borealis user interface.
  2. Click on your Borealis e-mail address (in the upper-right corner).
  3. Click Account.



  4. Click the Enable 2FA button.
  5. Place a checkmark next to 'Enable 2FA'.
  6. You will now see a confirmation code field and at the same time, a unique code will be e-mail to you.
  7. Go to the inbox of your user e-mail address and locate the confirmation code.
  8. Enter the code into the confirmation code field and click the SAVE button.



  9. At the top of the screen, you will see a notification that 2FA methods have been successfully updated.
  10. Click your user e-mail again (in the upper-right) and select Log out.
  11. A login code will now be required to log into the Borealis client.
  12. The login code will be e-mailed to your registered e-mail address when you attempt to login.
  13. Go to the inbox of your e-mail and locate the code.
  14. Copy and paste the unique code into the log in window.



  15. Click the SIGN IN button.
  16. You will be logged back into Borealis user interface.

3.0 Disable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Log into the user interface using the 2FA code.
  2. Click on your Borealis e-mail address (in the upper-right corner).
  3. Click Account.
  4. Click the Enable 2FA button.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable 2FA.
  6. Click the UPDATE button.
  7. You will see a notification at the top of the screen stating 2FA methods are successfully updated.
  8. Click your e-mail address in the upper-right.
  9. Select Log-out.
  10. Log back in to the user interface.
  11. You will not be required to enter a 2FA code.
