Enable Microsoft/Google 2FA Authentication

Enable Microsoft/Google 2FA Authentication

1.0 Introduction

Borealis now supports the use of an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) to provide an extra layer of security when logging into the user interface. Once setup and enabled, each time the operator logs into the Borealis client they will be prompted to generate a new authentication code to authenticate the operator login to the software. Many authenticator apps (such as Google Authenticator) can be downloaded from the Play Store (using an Android device) or the iOS App Store (using an Apple iOS device).

2.0 Download the Authenticator App

The following steps explain how to download and install the Google Authenticator app on an Android device. The steps are almost identical when using an iOS device.

Note: Your phone/device will need to be connected to the internet to perform the next steps.
  1. Open the Play Store.
  2. In the search field, enter 'Google Authenticator'.
  3. Click the install button.
  4. Once installed, click on OPEN.
