Excluding a Reader From Your Subscription

Excluding a Reader From Your Subscription

1.0 Introduction

A Borealis system incurs a charge any readers that will be used on the system. By default all of the readers on a controller are set to be included in the subscription (even if there is no reader physically connected to the reader port).

They may, however, be a situation where you have a 4-door controller but only 3 of those readers will be used. In this situation you will need to exclude the reader from the subscription (to prevent the reader subscription being charged). The following steps explain how to exclude a reader from your Borealis subscription.

2.0 Excluding a Reader from the Borealis Subscription

This section assumes you have added a controller to Borealis but the subscription for the controller has not yet been paid.
  1. Log into Borealis with your username and password.
  2. Select Hardware >> Readers from the menu on the left.
  3. A list of all readers on the system will appear.

  4. Place a checkmark in the checkbox next to the reader name (to select the reader).
  5. From the Actions drop-down list select Remove from Subscription.

  6. The reader will no longer be added to the Borealis subscription.
