Farpointe Conekt Reader Quick Start Guide

1.0 Introduction



This document provides information specific to installing a Farpointe Conekt reader to a Keri Doors.NET system using standard NXT, NXT-MSC or Mercury LP Series controllers. It also includes the steps for activating a mobile credential and then enrolling that credential into the Doors.NET software


2.0 Credential Management Warning

IMPORTANT NOTE: Credentials are specifically tied to the mobile device on which they are installed. They cannot be uninstalled and reassigned to a different device. You will lose your credential if you: - uninstall the Conekt Wallet App - delete the credential from the Conekt Wallet App Lost credentials are not recoverable and new credentials must be purchased per Farpointe policy.


3.0 RIM Compatibility

The Conekt reader is only compatible with the NXT-RM3. It is NOT compatible with NXT-WI due to how the Conekt reader handles LED control.


4.0 RIM Wiring/Configuration Drawings

4.1 Wiring to an NXT RM3 (Reader Interface Module)

The RIM must be configured as follows:
  1. Wiegand Reader (D5)
  2. Single-line, two-color LED (D3)
  3. 12 VDC power (D10 jumper)




Note: Reader to RIM wiring must be done as per the above table.

4.2 Wiring to a Mercury LP Door Controller (i.e LP-1502)


         


5.0 Mobile Credential Activation

You will receive your mobile credential certificate typically as an e-mail attachment.


  1. On your smart phone, download and install the Conekt Wallet App. The app can be found on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Once installed, launch the Conekt Wallet App.
  3. Select the + button to load a new mobile credential.
  4. When prompted, enter the 16-character Conekt registration key (printed on your certificate). This will download and activate the Conekt Mobile Access Credential. The registration key can either be entered manually or by scanning the QR code on your certificate, scanned with the smartphone's camera.



  5. The Conekt Mobile Access credential will now appear in the Conekt Wallet app, ready for use.

6.0 Configure the Conekt Reader in the Doors.NET Software

In the Doors.NET software there are various settings and options for the Conekt reader:

  1. Go to Setup >> Hardware Setup >> All.
  2. Navigate to the reader in the hardware tree.
  3. Select the reader and the reader properties will appear on the right.



  4. Change the reader description to where the reader is located.
  5. Select the exact manufacturer model for the reader - Either Farpointe Conekt CSR-35L (long range) or the Farpointe Conekt CSR-35P (proximity).
  6. Refer to the Doors.NET Reader Settings guide for further reader settings.

7.0 Credential Enrollment in Doors.NET

7.1 Locating the Facility Code

You will need the credential Facility Code prior to enrolling the credential in Doors.NET. The Facility Code is found on the Order Summary provided with the credentials.

7.2 Credential Enrollment in DNET w/ NXT Standard or NXT-MSC

  1. Go to Home Cardholders.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a first name and a last name.
  4. Use the “Calculate Internal Number” method.
  5. Select Wiegand 26-bit from the format drop-down list.
  6. Enter the mobile credential ID in the “Imprint” field.
  7. Enter the Facility Code in the “Facility Code” field.
  8. Set the new credential as active.
  9. Click the ADD Card button.
  10. Go to the access rights tab and assign the cardholder a valid access group.
  11. Save the cardholder record.

7.3 Enrolling in DNET w/ Real Mercury

  1. Your license must have Credential Types enabled.
  2. Your license must have the 26-bit (Keri NXT) format added.
  3. Enter the Facility Code in the Cardnumber field.
  4. Enter the Facility Code in the Credential properties field.
  5. Enter the ID number supplied by Farpointe (printed on the credential certificate).
  6. Set the new credential as active.
  7. Click the ADD Card button.
  8. Go to the access rights tab and assign the cardholder a valid access group.
  9. Save the cardholder record.
