How to Change the IP Address of a LAN-520 Module
The following steps explain how to change the assigned IP address of a LAN-520 module.
Note: If the site/facility has an IT department you may need to involve them to obtain an available static IP address to assign to the LAN-520. If you are not involving an IT department it is good practice to open a command prompt (type 'CMD' in the Windows search field to open the command prompt window), then ping the IP address that you wish to assign. Verify that there is no reply (indicating that the IP is available and not assigned to another device).
These instructions assume you already have Lantronix Device Installer installed on the host PC.
- Launch Lantronix Device installer via the Windows Search Field.

- The Device Installer user interface will appear and will immediately scan the local area network for LAN-520 modules.
- The detected module(s) will be displayed and the current assigned IP address will also be shown.

- Select the module and it will be highlighted in blue.
- Click the ASSIGN IP button.

- The assign IP window will appear. Use the default option 'Assign a Specific IP address' and click NEXT.
- Enter the new IP address that you wish to assign to the LAN-520. Then click NEXT.
Note: You will not need to enter a gateway IP address if the LAN-520 is on the same subnet as the host PC.

- Click the ASSIGN button.
- Within a few seconds you should see a message that the new IP address has been successfully assigned.

- You can now close the IP assign window and you will see that the LAN-520 is now displaying the new assigned IP address.
