NXT-MSC Controller Firmware Upgrade

1.0 Introduction 

The following steps explain how to upgrade the firmware on an NXT-MSC or NXT-MSC controller via the Borealis user interface.


2.0 Check if the Controller Needs a Firmware Upgrade

  1. Once you have the controller(s) online, open live events via the last menu option on the left.
  2. Scroll down the list of events that are generated when the controller initially comes online.
  3. Look for a 'Controller Firmware Needs Upgrade Event'. This controller will require a firmware upgrade.



  4. Next, click on the Controllers menu option on the left.
  5. The controller list will appear.
  6. Click the Action drop-down menu on the right and select Flash.



  7. The controller firmware dialog box will appear. 
  8. Click the down-arrow and the most up-to-date firmware will be available.
  9. Select the new firmware file and then click the SAVE button.



  10. The new controller firmware will be sent to the controller.
  11. Live events will display firmware upgrade started and firmware upgrade complete events.
