PXL Controller Settings

1.0 Introduction

The following document explains the PXL controller settings that are available and editable in Borealis.

 

  1. From the main menu, go to Hardware >> Controllers.

  2. The controllers page will appear.

  3. From the Actions drop-down list on the right select Edit.
  4. The controller edit form will appear.

    Note: The primary controller is the controller which has an IP address displayed.

  5. Description - This is the controller name.
  6. Controller Model - This is the specific PXL-500 controller model. The list displays all PXL-500 controller models that are supported in Borealis. Here you should change the controller model if you see a controller mismatch indicator. If the controller model needs to be changed the correct detected model will be displayed in the controller properties (as highlighted).

  7. PXL Number - This is the controller's programmed address. The primary controller is always address #1.
  8. Enabled - This allows you to toggle between the controller being enabled or disabled. If the primary controller is disabled it will go offline.

  9. MAC Address - This is the MAC address of the LAN-520 module that's connected to the primary controller.
  10. Download Cardholders Without Access - All cardholders in the database will be downloaded to the controller (regardless of their access rights at the controller.

  11. IP Address - This is the programmed IP address of the LAN-520 module that's connected to the primary controller.
  12. Port Number - This is the programmed TCP/IP port number for the LAN-520 that's connected to the primary controller.

  13. APB Type - This option allows you to enable the Anti-passback feature on the controller.
  14. APB Amnesty - Allows you to configure APB amnesty type when APB is enabled. APB amnesty can be set to Daily (at a certain time of day) or Intervals (to happen at specific intervals, for example: every 15 minutes).

  15. Site ID - This is the Site ID (Sxxx) for the primary controller.
  16. Site PIN - This is the unique PIN assigned to the controller to prevent unauthorized communication with the controller.

  17. Network Lock Time - All door on this controller which have been unlocked from the user interface will be automatically relocked at this time.
  18. Global Lock Enabled - Enables the Global Lock feature on the primary controller. When enabled, you will also see a Global Lock Type which determines whether Global Lock will Lock all doors on the network or put them all into Lockout or Lockdown.

  19. Global Unlock Enabled - Enables the Global Unlock feature on the primary controller. When enabled, activating the Global Unlock input will immediately unlock all doors on the PXL network.
  20. Extended Cardholder Records - This option configures the controller to support Card + PIN and temporary cardholders and is enabled by default.
