PXL MS and Wiegand Reader Settings
1.0 Introduction
The PXL integration with Borealis supports both PXL-500W and PXL-500P controller types. The PXL-500P controllers support Keri's MS Series readers and the PXL-500W supports Wiegand readers. This document covers the reader settings that can be edited in Borealis.
2.0 Access the Reader Settings
- From the main menu, click on Hardware >> Readers.
- This will display list of all readers on the system.
- Select a reader by placing a check mark next to the reader name.
- On the right-side of the screen use the Actions drop-down menu and select Edit.
- The reader edit window will appear.
- Description - Allows you to change the name of the reader.
- Enabled - Allows you to enable and disable the reader.
- Keypad Enabled - Allows a keypad to be used for Card + PIN (only supported with using a PXL-500W)
- Dual Verification Schedule - The active Card + PIN schedule for the keypad.
- PIN Timeout - The amount of time given for the PIN to be entered following valid access from a Wiegand credential.
- Lockout Duration - The amount of time (in seconds) to lockout the keypad after six invalid PIN entries.
- Auto Unlock Schedule - Allows you to assign an auto-unlock schedule to the reader (this will automatically lock and unlock the door during the day).
- Default Online Mode - Specifies the default reader mode after initialization of the controller or after a controller reset.
Note: The default online mode of Card + PIN is only supported with a Wiegand keypad connected to a PXL-500W controller.
- Held Open Time - Amount of time for the door position to be open before a door held-open event is generated.
- Strike Timing - Max - The maximum amount of time (in seconds) for the door strike to be activated.
- Rex 1 Operating Mode - Determines if the Request-to-Exit input will be continuous (follows the state of the Rex 1 input) or momentary (unlocks the door for the duration of the door strike time).
- Rex 2 Operating Mode - Determines if the auxiliary Request-to-Exit input will be continuous (follows the state of the Rex 1 input) or momentary (unlocks the door for the duration of the door strike time).
- LED and Buzzer - Allows you to determine the LED mode of the connected reader (or if an Essex keypad is used).
