Note:
There may be multiple components to the anti-virus software that you need to disable. For instance; When using Norton Antivirus, the Auto Protect and Smart Firewall both need to be disabled.
3.0 Install the Doors.NET Software
Once the anti-virus software is disabled you can then install the Doors.NET software.
Installation instructions can be found here.
4.0 Re-Enable the Anti-Virus Software
Once the software has been installed you will be prompted to run the License Manager. You should do this and then follow the steps to install the hardware gateway. If required, you may also need to reboot the PC.
Once the gateway has been setup you can then close down the license manager.
Re-enabling the anti-virus software will typically be the reverse of the steps you took to disable the anti-virus software.
5.0 Add Doors.NET Files as Exceptions
You should now consult the documentation to find out how to add files to your anti-virus software as exceptions. Typically you would open up the main menu of the anti-virus software and look for a link to the anti-virus settings. Within the settings you will then most likely see an option for configuring risks/items to exclude/allow files or folders. Look for an add button and then navigate to the
C:\Keri\DoorsNET
directory on the host PC. Select the five .EXE files you see highlighted.
Note:
You may need to select and add these files individually.
6.0 How to Restore a Doors.NET File that has been quarantined
If one of the Doors.NET application files has accidentally been quarantined you will need to navigate to the quarantine list in the anti-virus software. Typically you would then right-click on the file that has been blacklisted and there would be an option to restore the file or 'allow it as safe' or 'add to the whitelist' - (wording to that effect). Again, if you are unsure, consult the vendor's documentation for how to release a file from quarantine.
6.1 Re-Install the Windows Service
Once you have released the quarantined file you should:
Disable the anti-virus software.
Open the Doors.NET License Manager.
Confirm the prompt to re-install and restart the service.
Add the .exe file to the anti-virus as an exception (section 5.0).
Re-enable the anti-virus.
