Work Hour Calculation Report
1.0 Introduction
The work hour calculation report allows you to generate a report that displays who has been at work that day (who entered the premises with a valid credential) and it accurately calculates the work hours and total minutes - based on access granted messages generated from two or more different readers. The readers can be controlling separate doors or they can be entry and exit readers on the same door. This setup uses an entry and an exit reader controlling a single access point (main entrance door).
2.0 Name the Readers
The following steps assume you already have an NXT-MSC controller online and you have also added an NXT exit reader to the system.
- In Doors.NET go to Setup >> Hardware Setup >> All.
- Select each of the readers and give each reader a meaningful description.
- Ensure you have saved the reader settings.
3.0 Generate Access Granted Events
The next step is to generate an access granted event at the readers:
- First, generate an access granted event at the entry reader.
- Some time later in the day, with the same credential, generate an access granted event at the opposite exit reader.
4.0 Define the Report Parameters
- Click on Reports >> Transactions.
- Select the time and date range for the report. For example: run the report just for today.
- Select Yes to limit the hardware selection.
- Select Yes to limit the message type selection.
- De-select the 'Use Default Sorting, Card Detail, .....' option.
- Click NEXT.
5.0 Select the Readers to Participate in the Report
The next screen to display will be all the readers on the system:
- Place a check mark against the 'reader' (from the select hardware type list).
- Then place a check mark against each of the entry and the exit readers (displayed on the right).
- Click NEXT.
- Select the Access Granted message type only (as highlighted).
- Click NEXT again.
6.0 Run the Report
- On the next screen, place a check mark against 'Work Hour Calculations'.
- Select Timestamp Controller - to use the exact time that the credential was presented at the reader.
- Click NEXT.
- Finally, click the Run Report icon.
- The report will be generated and a calculation of the time in the building will be displayed for each of the cardholders that got access granted that day.
- The work hours are listed in decimal format to two places so an operator can note fractions of an hour.
7.0 Save the Report Parameters
On the same screen that you ran the report you can also save the report. This will save the report parameters that you selected in the previous section.
- Enter a name for the report.
- Click on the Save icon.
- The report parameters will then be available to select when you next open the transaction report wizard.
Note: As with the standard transaction reports, you can also save the reports as an Excel, PDF or XPF file.
