Change the Admin Password Notification

1.0 Introduction

This feature allows the system administrator to control the amount of time between password changes for all users of the system. The default setting is every 90 days for new systems. An upgraded system will be set to Never until the system administrator decides which level is appropriate for their site.

If the selected time is not the Never selection, the system will check the time of the last password change on every login. A message will be displayed if the last password changes exceeds the value set by the system administrator:

2.0 Change the Operator Password

  1. Click YES to the notification that appears when you log into Doors.NET.
  2. The password change dialog box will appear.
  3. Enter the old (current) admin password.

  4. Enter the new password.
  5. Enter the new password a second time, to confirm. The new password cannot be the same as the old password
  6. A password strength indicator will be displayed.

  7. Factors that increase the strength of the password:
    - High number of characters
    - Uppercase and lowercase letters
    - Letters and numbers
    - Using symbols and special characters

  8. The following notification will appear:

  9. Click YES to proceed with the password change.
  10. The next time you log into Doors.NET you will need to use the new password.
